It may be that you have received a version of our TRANSIT reminder that varies somewhat from the version translated below. The differences should be minimal and have no bearing on the information required to complete the TRANSIT procedure successfully.

Payment is only necessary if you wish to have your domains administered by our service DENICdirect. Should you decide against having your domains administered by the service DENICdirect, we offer until [Here is indicated the deadline to act] the following options:

  1. Provider transfer
  2. Deletion

With the appropriate forms, which are provided as e-mail attachments, you can request a deletion of your domains or specify an individual AuthInfo password to transfer your domains to a provider. In order for your future provider to complete the transfer, you will need to provide them with this password. DENIC will not charge you any fees for the provider transfer or the domain deletion.

As long as a domain is administered by a provider, this provider's prices apply for the administration of the domain and the obligation for the domain holder to pay the domain charges to DENIC is suspended. If however, the DENIC member ends it's administration of the domain, as in this case, the obligation to pay is reactivated and the domain holder must pay the domain charges directly to DENIC according to the price list currently in effect (denic.de/en/price-list). This is pursuant to § 4 of the DENIC Domain Terms and Conditions (denic.de/en/domain-terms-and-conditions).

DENIC will terminate the contract without notice for the affected domains and carry out the deletion.

This is according to § 7 (2) lit. k) of the DENIC Domain Terms and Conditions (denic.de/en/domain-terms-and-conditions). In order to avoid an unintentional contract termination, please react within the time stated.

Please take notice of the data protection information in item VII of the DENIC Domain Guidelines (denic.de/en/domainguidelines) and the data privacy note in § 8 of the DENIC Domain Terms and Conditions (denic.de/en/domain-terms-and-conditions). Due to legal retention obligations, DENIC will store the data of the invoice recipient until the end of the tenth full calendar year after payment or cancellation of the last invoice addressed to the invoice recipient. If the invoices are addressed and sent to the domain holder, DENIC will store the data of the domain holder - contrary to item VII paragraph 2 of the DENIC Domain Guidelines - at least until the end of the tenth full calendar year after payment or cancellation of the last invoice addressed to the domain holder due to legal retention obligations.
