NIS2 Verification

Have you received a request to verify your owner data?

In accordance with DENIC's domain terms and conditions and guidelines, all domain owners are required to provide the following information, which must be accurate and up to date:

  • Full name (for legal entities, including legal form)
  • Current postal address
  • Telephone number and email address

Risk-based data verification

As part of the registration and administration of .de domains, the owner data provided is automatically checked for completeness and plausibility. If discrepancies are found, additional verification may be required. In this case, the domain owner must confirm the accuracy of the data provided so that the domain can continue to be used without restriction.

Why do we carry out verification?

  • To ensure the correct registration of .de domains.
  • To protect against misuse, e.g., through spam or false information.
  • To comply with legal requirements under NIS-2 / BSI law.

Note

Please act in a timely manner and have your data verified by your provider to ensure the availability of your domain! If your data is not verified, we will first remove the domain from the .de zone and then delete it later!

Step by step: What you need to do

Check data with your provider

Check that your name (including legal form), address, telephone number, and email address are complete and up to date. Verification is not carried out automatically by DENIC directly, but by your responsible DENIC member (provider).

Only your provider can make the necessary corrections and send the verified data to us. If in doubt, please contact your provider. You will also find the information in the email we sent you.

Correct and verify information

Submit the necessary documentation to your provider (e.g., extract from the commercial register or suitable proof of identity).

Arrange verification via your provider

Verification is carried out exclusively by your responsible DENIC member. Only after successful confirmation will your domain data be considered properly verified.

Meet deadlines

If verification is not completed in a timely manner, your domain may be temporarily deactivated and deleted if there is no further response.
