DENIC is the central German domain registry and manages all the domain names with the ending .de. As a critical infrastructure provider we make available a vital component of the internet and strongly advocate and support an open, free and secure Internet. It is our central aim to ensure that .de domains can be accessed safely and reliably at an instant from anywhere in the world. We fulfil our tasks as a not-for-profit organisation, for the benefit of the entire Internet community.

Our Web Crawler

DENIC uses a web crawler analogous to common search engines to analyse technical security features in the .de zone. This crawler registers as DENIC-Crawler/42.

Given the large number of .de domains, we currently restrict the use of the crawler to the start page of a domain.

Frequently Asked Questions

As the central registry for all .de domains, we do of course have a database of all these domains. It goes without saying that we do not pass on this list!
