Internet users registering a domain will do so in future in accordance with terms and conditions that show more clearly than in the past who the parties to the contract are. That has been decided by the general assembly of the DENIC cooperative at its most recent meeting in Frankfurt am Main.

The number of domains with the suffix ".de" continues to double every six months. On 3 April 2000, DENIC eG in Frankfurt registered domain #2,000,000.

DENIC eG, the central registry for German Internet domain names, cuts its prices.

Central German domain name registrar DENIC eG's Supervisory Board appointed in its last meeting Ines Balthes from Internet provider XLink Internet Service GmbH, Karlsruhe, to the Board of Directors.

The number of German Internet addresses (domains) has crossed the one million mark.
