How to change the holder of your .de domain

Two ways to change the holder of a .de domain:

With the current provider

  • Both parties involved (old and future holder) jointly commission the provider.
  • The provider updates the holder data at DENIC.

Using AuthInfo to change providers

  1. The current holder has an AuthInfo password generated and stored at DENIC via the current provider.
  2. He passes the password on to the future holder.
  3. The new holder informs his desired provider of the password. The provider then carries out the provider and holder change in one step.
