Marcos Sanz Grossón und Peter Koch treiben das Thema DNSSEC bei der DENIC eG voran. Marcos Sanz Grossón ist Leiter der Abteilung Software Engineering und arbeitet dort seit mehr als zehn Jahren. Schon 2001 hat er eine Studie zur Praktikabilität der Einführung von DNSSEC in Deutschland begleitet und bei der darauffolgenden Überarbeitung des DNSSEC-Standards in der IETF mitgewirkt. Peter Koch studierte Informatik und war als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter tätig, bevor er 2005 zur DENIC eG kam. Als Senior Researcher liegt sein Fokus auf der Protokollentwicklung, insbesondere DNS, ENUM und IPv6 sowie der Datenanalyse und strategischen Sicherheit der Internet-Infrastruktur. Seit vielen Jahren wirkt er leitend in internationalen Gremien (IETF, RIPE, OARC) u.a. bei der Standardisierung von DNSSEC mit.
The Speakers
Marcos Sanz Grossón and Peter Koch are the driving forces of DNSSEC at DENIC eG. Marcos Sanz Grossón is head of DENIC's Software Engineering Department and has been working at DENIC for more than ten years. As early as 2001, he accompanied a study about the feasibility of introducing DNSSEC in Germany and was involved in the subsequent revision of the DNSSEC standards in the IETF. Peter Koch studied computer sciences and worked as research assistant before he joined DENIC in 2005. As the Senior Researcher of DENIC the focus of his work lies on protocol development, in particular DNS, ENUM and IPv6, as well as on data analysis and strategic security of the Internet infrastructure. Since many years he has held leading positions in international bodies (IETF, RIPE, ORG), where he has helped, for instance, to standardize DNSSEC.
Andreas Schulze arbeitet seit 16 Jahren bei der DATEV eG als Systemdesigner und Administrator im Bereich Internetdienste. Seine Hauptaufgabe ist der Betrieb und die Weiterentwicklung des Mailsystems. Dabei arbeitet er auch an den Themen IPv6, DNSSEC und DKIM.
Thorsten Dietrich war nach Abschluss seines Informatikstudiums zunächst mehrere Jahre als Projektmanager im Bereich IT-Sicherheit bei der Triaton GmbH tätig. Seit Juli 2005 widmet er sich als Referent im Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) innerhalb des Referats Internetsicherheit schwerpunktmäßig den Themen Sicherheit von Internetprotokollen und Providersicherheit.
Following his graduation as computer scientist, Thorsten Dietrich worked several years with Triaton GmbH as project manager in the field of IT security. Since July 2005, he has been employed by the Federal Agency for Security in Information Technology (BSI) as head of the Internet security division, his main responsibility being the security of Internet protocols and of providers.
Carsten Strotmann befasst sich seit über 15 Jahren mit sicherheitsrelevanten Themen im Internet, speziell in den Bereichen DNS (DNSSEC), DHCP und IPv6. Als Berater und Trainer für die isländische Firma Men & Mice betreut er Projekte in Unix- und Windows-Netzwerken internationaler Firmen und Organisationen mit dem Ziel der Effizienzsteigerung von DNS- und IP-Infrastrukturen.
Ralf Weber, Mitglied im Technischen Beirat von DENIC, begann seinen Werdegang 1994 bei RZ-Online/Kevag Telekom, bevor er 1998 zu Colt Telecom wechselte. Dort war er für das europaweite Engineering aller DNS-Systeme zuständig. Seit 2010 verantwortet er als Senior Infrastructure Architect bei der Nominum Inc. die Architektur der DNS-Dienste und unterstützt die Produktentwicklung im Bereich DNSSEC.
Ralf Weber, member of the Technical Advisory Board of DENIC, started his professional career at RZ-Online/Kevag Telekom in 1994 before he changed to Colt Telecom in 1998. At Colt Telecom he was responsible for the engineering of all DNS systems throughout Europe. Since 2010 Ralf Weber is senior infrastructure architect at Nominum Inc. and in this function responsible for the architecture of the DNS services. In addition to that, he supports product development in the field of DNSSEC.
Ralf Brünig hat in Paderborn Elektrotechnik (Fachrichtung Informationstechnik) studiert und war danach bei T-Systems und an der TU Berlin als Netzwerkexperte tätig. Seit fünf Jahren ist er bei F5 Networks und unterstützt seit 2008 in Zentral- und Osteuropa als Field Systems Engineer Kundenprojekte im Bereich Traffic Management und Global Server Loadbalancing.
Jürgen Joswig, Dipl.-Math., und Toni Lampela, BSc Engineering, befassen sich bei Nixu Software mit DNSSEC. Jürgen Joswig hat langjährige Erfahrung in Softwareentwicklung und Produktmanagement von Telekommunikations-Management-Network-Systemen. Seit 2004 war er in leitenden Positionen im Vertrieb IP-basierter Systeme mit Fokus auf Management, Security und Network Access Control tätig. Seit 2006 besteht der Kontakt zu Nixu Software, seit 2009 ist er EMEA Sales Director. Toni Lampela hat umfangreiche Erfahrungen im Umfeld DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) und führte als Vertriebsingenieur zahlreiche Installationen und Trainings bei Kunden durch. Neben der Installation traditioneller DDI-Umgebungen hat er Erfahrungen mit IPv6, Dual-Stack, DNSSEC und DDI in virtuellen Umgebungen.
Jürgen Joswig, who holds a university degree in mathematics, and Toni Lampela, BSc Engineering, are dealing with DNSSEC at Nixu Software. Jürgen Joswig has long years of experience in software development and product management of telecommunications management network systems. Since 2004 he has had several leading positions in the field of IP-based system sales with a focus on management, security and network access control. In 2006 he established contact to Nixu Software, and since 2009 he has been EMEA Sales Director. Toni Lampela has extensive experience in the field of DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM). As sales engineer, he carries out numerous installations and training courses at customer sites. He has not only great experience with the installation of traditional DDI environments but also with IPv6, Dual-Stack, DNSSEC and DDI in virtual environments.
Kariem Hussein and Wolfgang Nagele have been working closely together for several years. In 2008, Exabit GmbH started to develop Exanames as a product enabling automization of DNSSEC. It is meant to facilitate application of the DNSSEC standard for domain operators. Wolfgang Nagele is actively involved in DNSSEC protocol development through his work at RICPE NCC. Kariem Hussein has developed provisioning systems for the telecommunications industry for several years.
Kariem Hussein und Wolfgang Nagele arbeiten seit mehreren Jahren eng zusammen. 2008 hat die Exabit GmbH mit der Entwicklung von Exanames als Produkt zur Automatisierung von DNSSEC begonnen, um es Betreibern von Domains leicht zu machen, den DNSSEC-Standard anzuwenden. Wolfgang Nagele ist durch seine Arbeit beim RIPE NCC aktiv in die DNSSEC-Protokollentwicklung involviert. Kariem Hussein entwickelt seit mehreren Jahren Provisionierungssysteme für die Telekommunikationsindustrie.
Ralf Brünig studied electrical engineering in Paderborn (field information technology) and then worked at T-Systems and at the Technical University of Berlin as network specialist. Since 2005 he has been employed by F5 Networks and since 2008 he is responsible as field systems engineer for supporting customer projects in the field of traffic management and global server load balancing in central and Eastern Europe.
Carsten Strotmann has been involved in issues related to security on the Internet, in particular in the fields of DNS (DNSSEC), DHCP and IPv6 for more than 15 years. In his function of consultant and trainer of the Icelandic company Firma Men & Mice he supports Unix and Windows networks projects of international companies and organizations which aim at making DNS and IP infrastructure more efficient.
Dominic Stahl ist Systems Engineer bei Infoblox Inc. und beschäftigt sich seit 10 Jahren mit den Themen IP-Addressmanagement sowie DNS und DHCP. Er ist fasziniert von der Möglichkeit, eine komplexe und aufwendige Materie wie DNSSEC zu automatisieren und zu vereinfachen. Eine grafische Oberfläche gehört dabei für ihn genauso dazu, wie ein automatisches Key Rollover.
Andreas Schulze has been employed with DATEV eG as system designer and administrator in the field of Internet services for 16 years. His main task is the operation and further development of the mail system. In this context, he also deals with IPv6, DNSSEC and DKIM.
Dominic Stahl works as systems engineer at Infoblox Inc. and has been involved in the topics of IP address management as well as DNS and DHCP for more than 10 years. He is fascinated by the possibility of automating such a complex and costly matter as DNSSEC and of simplifying it. For him, this includes a graphic surface as well as an automatic key rollover.
