Illegal Content
Possible legal violations on the internet range from child pornography to incitement to hatred, from fake shops to phishing emails, from data protection violations to missing legal notices.
What they all have in common is that they concern content distributed by providers via websites and emails or via social media. DENIC, on the other hand, merely registers domains that can then be linked to websites by their owners or used as the basis for email addresses. This means that DENIC does not store any content and therefore has no access to it, so it cannot influence or delete it. From a purely technical and legal point of view, DENIC therefore has no means of taking action against content.
However, various actors have set up a number of specialised contact points that accept complaints about legal violations. These online reporting centres offer fast, uncomplicated and unbureaucratic help and work with various partners to ensure that illegal content can be removed from the internet.
