Assuming a leading role on the German market, DENIC eG and its 100 employees are responsible for the technical robustness of this vital resource of the German Internet. Running a worldwide name server network, we make more than 17 million .de domains globally available around the clock from any place in the world. Organised in the legal form of a cooperative, we and our members and other national and international partners are committed to jointly safeguard the secure operation of the Internet and its constant further development. Data System Engineer (f/m/d)
You are an expert in database administration and it is your ambition to develop a completely new strategic approach to data handling for DENIC. You use the creative space we grant you to generate inspiring and sustainable ideas. You are open-minded and like to think outside the box. You apply your know-how to identify and open up new market potentials for DENIC.
Requirements:
- You are responsible for the conceptualisation and implementation of strategic projects related to Big Data. In this context, you support us in advancing and operating our services.
- You investigate the potential for new products and technologies. To do this, you use (predictive, prescriptive) data analyses that are based on (structured and unstructured) internal and external data, to support internal processes and analyses.
- You are well familiar with the data science landscape and evaluate technologies and tools that help DENIC to gain a better understanding of its data and derive commercial benefit from them.
- You carry out Proof of Concept analyses and know how to prepare and visualise complex issues for specific target groups. You use dashboards, periodic reports and presentations for operationalising analyses results.
- You are responsible for the operation, administration and further development of database systems.
Qualifications:
- University degree in computer sciences, mathematics or economics/business informatics or another equivalent course
- Experienced user of standard technologies of data analysis and visualisation
- Open to new technologies related to the fields listed above
- Knowledge in computer programming (Phyton or Go) and database experience (SQL or noSQL) is a must
- Ability to work well structured in a highly agile environment
- You have a confident manner and enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders, both domestically and internationally
- Exceptional communication skills and very good command of German and English
