Internetstandards (RFCs)

Die IETF publiziert eine Sammlung von technischen Dokumenten (das erste stammt aus dem Jahr 1969) zum Internet unter der Überschrift RFC, der Abkürzung für Request For Comment. RFCs sind einem ständigem Prozess unterlegen, der wiederum selbst in RFC 2026 dokumentiert ist und am Ende dessen sie zur Kategorie von Internet-Standard avanciert werden können.
