Deleting an ENUM Domain
If you want to delete your ENUM domain, please contact your provider. Make sure that you are as precise as possible, so that your provider really knows what you want and that there is no risk of misunderstanding what your intention is. Vague instructions like "I don’t want my ENUM domain any more" or "Please switch off my ENUM domain" do not indicate that you want to give up your domain altogether and that you actually want DENIC to delete it. It might be that you just want to terminate the service contract with your provider. Such a step does not lead to deletion of the ENUM domain, since the existence of the ENUM domain is covered by a contract between DENIC and the domain holder. In order to eliminate this sort of potential misunderstanding, many providers insist on the use of a special form for requesting the definitive deletion of domains.
As with all other orders, we will only accept a request to delete a domain if it is submitted by the DENIC member responsible for administering it at the time. Please bear in mind that a deletion cannot be undone once it has been carried out. If you want to go on using the services offered by an ENUM domain, you must again register the ENUM domain which corresponds to your telephone number via a provider.
